Customer Reviews

We had a fantastic time. Our guide was super knowledgeable, helpful and polite. You get a nice split of some birds and light kayaking in the morning and the big animals in the afternoon. Lunch was excellently prepared and delicious too. I would highly recommend this company for any of their tours. - Matthew

High Kudos to Crisscross Adventures. On March 23rd we were welcomed at their headquarters by their team, for our full day Addo Birds & Bush Package. Our group tour became a private tour and we started off going for a lovely relaxing kayak float down the Sunday's River river. Small rapids helped us along, so we could have all our attention on the many pretty birds pointed out by our kind guide Donald (if I remember his name correctly). This was followed by a tasty braai back at our starting point. Here a group might have been more entertaining, but the three of us enjoyed the lunch anyways. Next up was our safari through the Addo Elephant Park. This being our second Addo visit we were hoping to see a lion or a leopard, but none were to be found on this trip either. However, we came for the Elephants and my gosh did Addo deliver! This year was definitely Elephant year and we some some huge groups drinking and frolicking at the watering holes. So many had their little ones during the quite times (with park closures due to Covid) that we did not know where to look first. We were able to take some amazing photos this trip, some which will end up on our walls back home. Our guide brought drinks and snacks, pointed out many animals along the way that we would not have spotted ourselves and he gave us a lot of info about the park and animals as well. We had a splendid day and felt very well taken care of. We would not hesitate to recommend these outfitters. They are experienced, courteous and we had great fun! - Paul

The guides make or break an experience of this kind. They need to be both engaging and knowledgeable. Our Crisscross Adventures guides definitely fit the bill in this regard, even expertly and enthusiastically commenting on the bird- and insect life in the park. They also spotted for us a rarely-sighted black rhinoceros in the middle of a distant herd of elephants. - Cliff
